Description
A collection of antique Art Nouveau buttons primarily crafted from pewter and incorporating various mixed materials. The assortment features a wide range of decorative motifs, including intricate floral patterns, celestial themes such as crescent moons, and geometric designs. Technical execution includes relief work, bright-cut engraving, and the use of cut steel accents. Several examples utilize fabric inserts, glass elements, and tinted finishes designed to highlight the underlying metal. Handwritten annotations on the display board provide further identification of techniques such as blue wash and bright-cut details. The collection includes various sizes and construction types, including shank-back and flat-back examples.
Display board measures approximately 9 inches in height. Pick up is Friday, March 13 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
