Description
A collection of vintage Japanese animal figures, primarily dogs, crafted from molded celluloid and early plastics. The group features various breeds including bulldogs, terriers, spaniels, and German Shepherds in diverse poses. Notable items include a pink Pekinese figure attributed by an accompanying handwritten note to Ando Togoro, dating to the 1920s, and a baby rattle featuring a molded dog head handle and a small dog figure perched on a ball. Several figures exhibit whimsical details such as hats and monocles. Some pieces retain circular orange paper labels indicating they were Made in Japan. The construction consists of molded halves with visible seams.
Largest figure: approximately 4 inches in length. Burns in-house shipping is available. Pick up is Friday, March 27 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
