Description
An antique Regina disc-playing music box manufactured by the Regina Music Box Co. of Rahway, New Jersey. The instrument is housed in a dark-stained wooden cabinet featuring a tiered lid. The interior of the hinged lid displays a lithograph depicting a female figure with a lyre surrounded by several cherubs. The internal mechanical components include a spiral-turned support arm and a separate metal hand crank with a wooden handle. The lot is accompanied by a collection of perforated metal music discs. Visible markings on the discs and mechanism include the Regina brand name, the Music Box Co. Rahway, N.J. manufacturer name, and patent dates from 1889 and 1893.
