Burns March Gallery Auction
Lot 9377:
Description
An assortment of antique cast iron still banks attributed to A. C. Williams. The collection features several St. Bernard figures depicted with packs or saddles and a seated hound with elongated ears. Each bank is constructed from two-part cast iron molds held together by a central flat-head screw, with a coin slot integrated into the top seam. The figures retain traces of original polychrome finishes, including yellow on the St. Bernard harnesses and red accents on the hound’s mouth. The casting displays textured fur details and defined facial features characteristic of late 19th and early 20th-century production. One example is shown disassembled, illustrating the interior cavity and screw post.
