Description
This assortment consists of historical buttons and contemporary handcrafted art glass pieces. The historical portion includes 18th-century examples featuring intricate embroidered fabric, sequins, and metallic elements, with backings constructed from bone and wood. These are buttons that demonstrate period craftsmanship and textile techniques. The contemporary section features studio glass objects from the Kathy Hoppe Studio, with handwritten labels indicating production dates between 2006 and 2020. These modern pieces utilize specialized techniques such as millefiori, lampworking, and paperweight-style inclusions. Materials identified within the studio collection include Fordite and Coralene. The items are presented on multiple display boards with descriptive labels.
