Description
This collection of antique and vintage buttons is arranged on two presentation boards. One board is labeled STEEL and contains numerous small buttons with filigree, pierced metalwork, and mixed-media construction. Materials include steel, brass, pewter, wood, and mother-of-pearl. Handwritten annotations on the board identify motifs and materials such as Lily of the Valley, Birds Pence, wood background, and mother-of-pearl. The second board features larger buttons mounted in individual circular frames, exhibiting Victorian and Art Nouveau styles. These buttons are crafted from various metals including steel and brass, with many featuring faceted glass, rhinestones, or iridescent shell centers. Decorative motifs include scrolling foliage, floral sprays, and animal figures such as birds and horses.
Board dimensions: 9 x 12 inches Pick up is Friday, March 13 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
