Description
A collection of antique and vintage buttons featuring a variety of materials and designs. The group includes examples made of celluloid, noted in the collection as Ivorine and Iveroid, as well as brass-toned and dark-finished metals. Several buttons are embellished with paste stones or glass inserts. Decorative motifs include architectural scenes such as a manor house, floral patterns, cherubs, clovers, and intricate geometric designs. The buttons are organized across multiple display boards with labels such as SM. Celluloid Set in Metal, Iveroid, and Look-Like (Not) Celluloid. The lot includes a classification folder with a reference sheet based on the National Button Society (NBS) February 2002 classification for celluloid buttons. Handwritten identification notes are present on the mounting surfaces.
Display boards measure approximately 9 inches by 12 inches. Pick up is Friday, March 13 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
