Description
A collection of oversized decorative buttons, including Division I and Division III examples, featuring various materials and designs from the late 19th to mid-20th century. The group includes buttons crafted from celluloid, casein, wood, mother-of-pearl, and brass. Notable pieces include a silver-toned metal button embossed with a heraldic lion and the inscription 1953 Coronation, an intricate pierced metal button with polychrome enamel highlights, and buttons set with faceted glass stones in red and purple. Design styles represented include Art Deco geometric motifs, carved floral patterns, and iridescent swirl textures. Several buttons are mounted on a card labeled OVERSIZE with handwritten notations including CASIEN.
