Description
This collection of vintage and antique sewing buttons features various examples primarily fashioned from mother-of-pearl and diverse types of shell. The assortment includes a wide array of shapes, such as circular, square, hexagonal, and a novelty carved butterfly, with styles ranging from simple flat discs to carved floral, starburst, and geometric patterns. Several examples feature secondary materials, including metal accents, plastic or composition rims, and multi-layered shell in shell constructions. The items are mounted to a black display card with fine colored wires. Handwritten annotations on the card identify specific features such as composition rim, with plastic rim, shell in shell, and specific hole counts.
Display card: 11 x 8.5 inches Pick up is Friday, March 13 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
