Description
A collection of modern pewter buttons featuring various relief-molded designs and specific maker attributions. These items are buttons mounted on a display card, with identified makers including Todd Oldham, Three Feathers Pewter, and Pillaged Village. The assortment displays a wide range of motifs such as botanical subjects including oak leaves, acorns, and a green enameled artichoke. Animal designs feature grazing sheep and birds, while landscape scenes include cacti and barns. One prominent button depicts an Art Nouveau-style female face. Several examples incorporate decorative centers in blue, brown, or green tones. The lot includes a provenance document from Three Feathers Pewter dated Spring 2003, which describes an oval button reproduction cast from a four-cavity brass mold dated 1758. Many buttons in the group are noted to feature backmarks.
