Description
This lot consists of a collection of antique and vintage buttons professionally mounted on a display board for a 2013 Buckeye State Button Society competition. The assembly is unified by a paisley decorative motif and features a diverse range of materials as identified by individual labels. The collection includes various glass types such as micro-mosaic, lacy, black, and C&C glass. Metallic examples include pewter, steel, and crystallized tin. Early plastics are represented by celluloid and melamine, while organic materials include horn, shell, and papier-mache. The buttons are securely fastened to the board with wire, which is visible on the reverse side. The lot is accompanied by the original white merit award ribbon and a judging sheet detailing the entry information.
The display board measures approximately 9 by 12 inches. Pick up is Friday, March 13 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
