Description
Imperial German WWI Miniature Pour Le Merite Blue Max Lapel Decoration. Measures 13/16”x 13/16”. The front shows a maltese cross with an eagle in each corner. with a King’s crown with an ‘F’ on the upper arm. It reads ‘Pour Le Merite’ on the other three arms. The reverse side is blank with enamel. There are two machine embroidered cloth woven cotton ribbons attached to a brass button, with the Blue Max hanging below. One piece die struck brass construction with double sided powder blue enamel. This was to have been worn on the uniform lapel. This was Germany’s highest valor award for gallantry in combat action during World War I. RARE. Pick up is Sunday, March 29 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
