Description
Civil War West Virginia “Honorably Discharged” Medal presented to Lewis Hammer of Co. K, 10th West Virginia Infantry. Missing the attachment dfevice on the back of the suspension bar. He enlisted as a corporal on February 23, 1864 and mustered out on August 9, 1865. During his period of service, the 10th fought at the battles of Winchester, Cedar Creek, and Petersburg, Virginia. During the war the 10th sustained casualties of 2 officers and 93 men killed or mortally wounded. Pick up is Sunday, March 29 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
