Description
This collection consists of mid-20th century United States military field gear and equipment, primarily constructed from olive drab canvas, metal, and wood. The group includes an M1 steel helmet shell with a corresponding plastic liner featuring interior webbing. Accompanying the helmet are various canvas components, including a web pistol belt, canvas suspenders, and multiple pouches and covers bearing U.S. stamps. The lot features folding entrenching tools with canvas covers, one of which displays a U.S. mark and a partial date stamp. Also included is a canvas roll containing a multi-part metal cleaning rod and a single metal fork. The items are housed in a weathered wooden crate of dovetail construction, featuring faded red stenciling for RED DIAMOND EXPLOSIVES from the Austin Powder Co. of Cleveland, Ohio. Burns in-house shipping is available. Pick up is Saturday, Feb. 28 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
