Description
An assortment of military field equipment and headgear spanning the World War II and Cold War eras. The collection includes a large olive drab canvas duffel bag stenciled with the name HARLAN F. NICHOLSON, the service number 35 168 447, and the U.S. designation. Also present is an aluminum beverage pitcher with a hinged lid, featuring a base stamped with U. S. and A. G. M. CO. 1941, indicating manufacture by the Aluminum Goods Manufacturing Company. The lot includes a quilted, down-filled tan sleeping bag liner resembling the M-1949 model with a stenciled U.S. mark, as well as a canteen with a plastic cap housed in a canvas cover with lift-the-dot fasteners. An additional dark olive drab canvas utility bag with integrated web handles is included. The headgear portion of the assortment consists of several overseas-style side caps, including multiple grey wool East German National People’s Army (NVA) caps featuring woven hammer and compass insignia within a grain wreath, and a West German Bundeswehr olive-brown wool side cap featuring a black, red, and yellow national roundel. We do our best to describe all items in the sale, and we definitely take a ton of photos. But, we are not able to guarantee authenticity or era of items in the sale. Please carefully look at all photos (up to 100 in some cases on our in-house platform) to judge for yourself what you are buying. All sales are final. Our in-house shipping is available. Pickup is Wednesday, July 15, from Noon to 5 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
