Description
A collection of volumes from the World War II series published by Time-Life Books. These quarto-sized hardcovers are bound in the publisher’s original pictorial boards, featuring high-contrast black-and-white historical photographs on the front and back covers. As issued, the volumes do not have separate dust jackets. Each spine is characterized by a specific volume title in red uppercase letters, followed by the series title World War II in gold-toned metallic text and the publisher’s red vertical logo. The titles observed in this group include Prelude to War, Blitzkrieg, The Battle of Britain, The Rising Sun, The Battle of the Atlantic, Russia Besieged, China-Burma-India, Partisans and Guerrillas, The Second Front, The War in the Desert, The Home Front: U.S.A., Island Fighting, and The Italian Campaign. The interiors are extensively illustrated with historical photographs, maps, and technical drawings typical of this series. We do our best to describe all items in the sale, and we definitely take a ton of photos. But, we are not able to guarantee authenticity or era of items in the sale. Please carefully look at all photos (up to 100 in some cases on our in-house platform) to judge for yourself what you are buying. All sales are final. Our in-house shipping is available. Pickup is Wednesday, July 15, from Noon to 5 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
