Description

This is a US Army officer green service uniform grouping, pattern AG-44, belonging to Major Piaseczny. The lot consists of two service jackets and one pair of matching trousers. Both jackets are professionally tailored, with one featuring an interior label from Leopold Morse Co. of Boston and the second bearing a label from Haymarket Veterans Uniform Co. of Boston and New York. The items identify a highly decorated veteran of both World War II and the Korean War. The jackets are adorned with gold-toned oak leaf insignia for the rank of Major and crossed rifle branch insignia for the Infantry. The left shoulder bears the 3rd Infantry Division patch, while the right shoulder features the 6th Infantry Division patch representing former wartime service. The epaulettes are fitted with distinctive unit insignia for the 7th Infantry Regiment, displaying the motto Volens Et Potens. Significant badges include a second award Combat Infantryman Badge, characterized by a silver star centered above the rifle in a wreath, and a Master Parachutist Badge. The ribbon rack is arranged in four rows and includes the Army Commendation Medal with one oak leaf cluster, Purple Heart with one oak leaf cluster, Army Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with three bronze campaign stars, World War II Victory Medal, Army of Occupation Medal, National Defense Service Medal with one star, Korean Service Medal with three bronze campaign stars, and the United Nations Service Medal for Korea. A Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation ribbon is mounted above the black and white plastic nameplate. One jacket features four gold bullion overseas service bars on the lower left sleeve, representing 24 months of combat theater service. The trousers include the characteristic dark blue officer’s stripe down the outer seam. We do our best to describe all items in the sale, and we definitely take a ton of photos.
