A United States Army technical publication designated FM 5-25, titled Engineer Field Manual: Explosives and Demolitions. This document was prepared under the direction of the Chief of Engineers and printed by the United States Government Printing Office in Washington, D.C. The front cover identifies the manual as a War Department publication dated January 12, 1942, while the internal title page carries a 1941 imprint date. The manual provides comprehensive technical instructions and tactical procedures for the use of explosives in military engineering. It contains numerous black and white technical illustrations and diagrams, including Figure 12 depicting a thawing kettle for dynamite, Figure 70 showing blasting methods and charge calculations for lateral-rooted stumps, and Figure 93 illustrating dog leg crater gallery layouts. The book features a light tan cardstock cover with black printed text and a double-line border. The title page includes the official seal of the United States War Office.
