Description
This lot features six pairs of vintage United States military utility trousers constructed from sage green and olive drab cotton herringbone twill HBT. The collection includes various patterns issued to the U.S. Army and U.S. Marine Corps during the mid-20th century. One pair contains a black ink stamp on the interior waistband reading LAURENCE K. KEFFER 33709224. Several pairs are identified as USMC P41 utility trousers, featuring open patch pockets and stamped bronze-finish metal donut buttons embossed with U.S. MARINE CORPS. Another pair is in the U.S. Army M1943 pattern, featuring large side-mounted cargo pockets with pointed button-down flaps and button-tab waist adjusters. Construction details include reinforced stitching, button fly closures, and a mix of stamped metal hardware and flat brown plastic four-hole buttons. One USMC example features a notable period field repair on the lower leg consisting of a rectangular HBT fabric patch hand-sewn with white whip-stitching. We do our best to describe all items in the sale, and we definitely take a ton of photos. But, we are not able to guarantee authenticity or era of items in the sale.
