The tunic features a standing “choker” collar, five-button front closure, shoulder epaulettes, and four front patch pockets with scalloped flaps. The buttons are composed of a brown composite material and feature the Great Seal of the United States in relief. Each cuff is adorned with a single horizontal gold-toned service stripe, traditionally representing six months of overseas service. The interior is partially finished with a tan sateen lining. The accompanying service shirt is made of light olive drab wool and features a pointed collar and two chest pockets with rectangular button-down flaps.
