Description
A collection of United States military memorabilia and historical artifacts, primarily focused on the World War II era Navy Seabees (Naval Construction Battalions). The grouping includes a large blue flag featuring the official Seabees Fighting Bee logo and the word SEABEES in yellow block letters. Uniform items consist of a dark navy blue wool enlisted dress blouse, commonly referred to as a Crackerjack, featuring white buttons, and one olive drab wool garrison cap. Field equipment includes a circular metal-cased compass or optical instrument, an olive drab green metal storage container, and a canvas field bag with a webbed shoulder strap. The lot also contains personal and medical ephemera, including a vintage cardboard retail box for Thams Tasteless Chill Tonic for Malaria, marked with a 50-cent price, and an El Producto Blunts wooden cigar box. A black binder and various loose paper goods or photographs are present. Additionally, the collection includes 19th-century firearm components, specifically an incomplete wooden stock for a handgun or modified long gun, along with a separate percussion lock and trigger assembly. We do our best to describe all items in the sale, and we definitely take a ton of photos. But, we are not able to guarantee authenticity or era of items in the sale. Please carefully look at all photos (up to 100 in some cases on our in-house platform) to judge for yourself what you are buying. All sales are final. Our in-house shipping is available. Pickup is Wednesday, July 15, from Noon to 5 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
