Description
This lot comprises a collection of seven vintage, hand-painted wooden military insignia plaques representing various United States Army and Marine Corps units from the World War II era. Each plaque is constructed from wood board, with several featuring raised, applied wooden components to create a three-dimensional effect. The collection includes two plaques for the US Army 2nd Infantry Division, one on a black square field and one on a red square field, both featuring the characteristic white star and Native American head profile. Marine Corps units are represented by a diamond-shaped 4th Marine Division plaque with a yellow geometric 4, a shield-shaped 3rd Marine Division plaque with a three-pointed star, and a circular 51st Defense Battalion plaque featuring the unit number and USMC lettering. The 6th Marine Division is represented by a large circular plaque inscribed with the names of Pacific campaigns including Melanesia, Micronesia, Orient, and Visayas, centered by a 6 superimposed over a sword. Also included is a shield-shaped plaque for the 704th Tank Destroyer Battalion featuring a central skull motif on a red diamond field.

Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
