Description
This is a complete United States Marine Corps (USMC) Service Alpha uniform set identified to Sergeant R. P. Mason. The grouping consists of the forest green wool-blend service coat, matching trousers, and a khaki long-sleeve service shirt. The service coat features four front pockets, notched lapels, and a matching fabric belt with a gold-tone buckle. The rank insignia on both sleeves denotes the rank of Sergeant (E-5), featuring three olive green chevrons over crossed rifles on a red background. Two service stripes, or hash marks, are located on the lower left sleeve, indicating at least eight years of honorable service. The interior lining of the belt is stamped with the name R. P. MASON in black ink. The uniform is equipped with a comprehensive ribbon rack and qualification badges. The eight-ribbon rack includes the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Navy Unit Commendation, Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation, Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal with one bronze star (indicating a second award), National Defense Service Medal with one bronze star (indicating service during two authorized periods), Southwest Asia Service Medal with three bronze stars (denoting participation in three campaigns during the Gulf War), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the Navy and Marine Corps Sea Service Deployment Ribbon with three bronze stars (denoting four deployments). Shooting qualifications include a Rifle Expert Badge and a Pistol Expert Badge, both in silver-tone metal. The collar features two blackened metal Eagle, Globe, and Anchor (EGA) emblems, and the coat is secured with standard USMC blackened metal buttons.
