Description
This uniform set consists of a waist-length M1944 Winter Service field jacket, often called a Vandegrift jacket, and matching trousers. Both garments are constructed from heavy forest green kersey wool. The jacket features a full button-front closure with five brown plastic buttons and two pleated chest pockets with scalloped, button-down flaps. The waist is equipped with two adjustable side straps secured by black-finished metal buckles. The interior is partially lined with a greyish-green synthetic fabric, likely rayon or sateen. Each sleeve displays Corporal rank chevrons consisting of red embroidery on a forest green wool background. Sewn above the wearer’s right breast pocket is the Honorable Service Lapel Patch, or Ruptured Duck, indicating an honorable discharge. This patch features a gold-embroidered eagle within an olive drab lozenge. The lapels feature pre-drilled eyelets for the attachment of collar insignia, though no pins are present. No manufacturer labels, contract stamps, or size markings are visible in the provided photographs. We do our best to describe all items in the sale, and we definitely take a ton of photos.
