Description
This is a United States Army officer service coat manufactured by The Lilley-Ames Co. of Columbus, Ohio. The tunic is constructed from a heavy wool gabardine in a dark olive drab shade. It features a four-pocket design, including two pleated breast pockets with scalloped flaps and two large bellows-style hip pockets with straight flaps. The interior is fully lined with a dark brown satin fabric, with diamond-quilted reinforcement at the upper chest and shoulders. The gold-toned metal buttons feature the Great Seal of the United States. Each sleeve is finished with a single 1/2-inch gold metallic lace band at the cuff, signifying officer rank. The back of the coat includes a center vent and metal hooks at the waistline for an external belt. A woven manufacturer label inside reads The Lilley-Ames Co. COLUMBUS, O. and GUARANTEED SERVICE.
