Description
This group consists of several pieces of United States Army field gear and medical supplies dating to the World War II era. The collection features an M1916 brown leather holster for the M1911/M1911A1 .45 caliber pistol. The reverse side bears the stamped markings U.S. ENGER-KRESS -1944- and the front flap is embossed with U.S. within an oval. An M1923 ten-pocket canvas cartridge belt in OD #3 khaki is included, designed for M1 Garand en-bloc clips and featuring Lift-the-Dot fasteners. The M1936 canvas musette bag has a black U.S. stencil on the front flap and contains the handwritten name S M E N Y on the interior. Medical equipment includes an M1942 canvas first aid pouch containing two metal dressing tins and a yellow paper envelope of 5 Grams Crystalline SULFANILAMIDE manufactured by Hynson, Westcott & Dunning, Inc. of Baltimore, Maryland. Completing the collection are three steel 8-round en-bloc clips and two field dressings sealed in plastic. We do our best to describe all items in the sale, and we definitely take a ton of photos. But, we are not able to guarantee authenticity or era of items in the sale. Pickup is Wednesday, July 15, from Noon to 5 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
