Description
A group of United States military field equipment and shipboard gear primarily from the Vietnam War period. The collection includes a notable olive drab canvas rucksack featuring hand written ink markings on the rear reading WO QUANG / MANG BUK / A 246. These markings attribute the pack to a Warrant Officer at the Mang Buk Special Forces camp in Kontum Province, Vietnam, corresponding to Special Forces Detachment A 246. The group also contains a US Army tropical rucksack constructed of olive drab nylon with an integrated metal X frame, stenciled on the back RUCKSACK, TROPICAL with Stock Number 8465-935-6674. A US Navy shipboard battle lantern is included, featuring a grey painted metal housing marked 9-S-4432-L and a lens retaining ring marked 4432-L-3. The lot further consists of an olive drab plastic carrying case for an M18A1 Claymore mine embossed with the text FRONT TOWARD ENEMY, and a large heavy canvas aviator style kit bag stenciled US with heavy duty webbing handles. Also present is a large top loading canvas duffel bag containing various field components including collapsible metal tent poles, red and yellow plastic tent stakes, and olive drab mosquito netting. A pair of black polished leather low quarter dress shoes completes the assembly. We do our best to describe all items in the sale, and we definitely take a ton of photos. But, we are not able to guarantee authenticity or era of items in the sale. Pickup is Wednesday, July 15, from Noon to 5 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
