Description
This lot features two deactivated military ordnance items of United States origin, likely dating to the Korean War era. The primary item is an M29A2 inert practice rocket designed for the 3.5-inch M20 Super Bazooka. The assembly is finished in blue paint, the standard military color code for inert training ammunition. The midsection features stamped markings that read ROCKET, DUMMY M405 and L-1-92-4-53, providing a manufacture date of April 1953. The rocket is composed of a weighted nose section, a cylindrical motor body, and a flared tail fin assembly. The second item is a fired artillery projectile of steel construction. It is fitted with a mechanical time fuze featuring multiple graduated rings and markings including 21 SEC. The base of the shell retains its copper driving band, which displays distinct rifling impressions from being discharged from a rifled gun barrel. Both pieces are completely inert and contain no explosive or propellant materials.
