Description
A contemporary reproduction of the World War II V-42 combat stiletto manufactured by W.R. Case and Sons Cutlery Co. as a tribute to the First Special Service Force, also known as The Devil’s Brigade. The knife features a double-edged blued steel stiletto blade with a distinct thumbprint ricasso characterized by vertical gimping. The blade ricasso is stamped CASE on the mark side and V-42 USA 2018 on the pile side. The handle is constructed of stacked leather washers and is fitted with an oval steel crossguard featuring a leather buffer pad. The pommel is a threaded conical skull crusher design. The accompanying long-pattern leather sheath is a reproduction of the original wartime design, featuring steel-reinforcing teeth at the throat, diamond-shaped brass rivet covers, and a leather tie-down cord. The sheath is embossed CASE 1942 along with a stylized logo. This item includes the original factory presentation box and a Certificate of Authenticity for model 21994.
