This collection of historical non-fiction and fiction primarily comprises hardback volumes from the twentieth century. The group features a three-volume first edition set of Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn’s The Gulag Archipelago, published by Harper and Row between 1973 and 1978. Also included is a two-volume first edition set of The Lincoln Papers by David C. Mearns (1948) in a tan slipcase, and Carl Sandburg’s Abraham Lincoln: The Prairie Years and the War Years (1954). The collection contains first editions of Gore Vidal’s Lincoln (1984) and 1876 (1976), Winston S. Churchill’s Their Finest Hour (1949), James Clavell’s Shogun, and a 1908 Macmillan edition of Mr. Crewe’s Career by Winston Churchill. The volumes are cloth-bound, and most retain paper dust jackets. Burns in-house shipping is available. Pick up is Friday, March 27 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
