Description
An assortment of framed artworks primarily featuring the work of British-American artist Leslie Cope (1913-2002). The collection includes impasto-style landscape paintings, detailed pen-and-ink sketches, and pencil drawings. Subject matter focuses on rural life, farm scenes, and townscapes in Crooksville, Ohio, with works dated between 1953 and 2000. Also included is a reproduction print of Norman Rockwell’s The Runaway, a limited edition landscape print by George Weltman dated 2000 and numbered 463/100,000, and several small circular framed prints depicting birds and children, including scientific labels for Cinnyris pectoralis and Urodrepanis christinae. The pieces are housed in various frames including gilded wood, stained wood, and black finishes, many with decorative or marbled mats. Signatures, dates, and locations are visible on numerous pieces.
