Description
A J. & E. Stevens Company William Tell mechanical bank, produced according to the patent dated June 23, 1896. This polychrome-painted cast iron object depicts a musketeer figure in a black tunic and yellow breeches aiming a rifle at a smaller figure positioned on a ledge in front of a brick-textured castle tower. The bank is mounted on a long, rectangular base with a green-painted, textured surface. The underside features a perforated base plate and embossed text that reads PATENTED JUNE 23 1896. The cast components are joined with original assembly screws.
