A U.S. Springfield Model 1873 Trapdoor breech-loading rifle. The firearm is constructed with a smooth wood stock and blued steel components. The lock plate is stamped with a spread-wing eagle and the text U.S. SPRINGFIELD. The breech block is marked U.S. MODEL 1873. The receiver is stamped with the serial number 268934. The barrel features proof marks including V, P, and an eagle head. The buttplate tang is marked U.S. This item is either black powder or manufactured in or before 1898 (and does not take readily available ammunition), and thus does not require an FFL or background check. We can hand out to you at pickup or ship to the address of your choice. In-house shipping available. Pick up is Saturday, March 29 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
