Description

A Smith Patent breech-loading carbine manufactured by the Massachusetts Arms Co. of Chicopee Falls. The receiver is stamped with the address for Poultney and Trimble, Baltimore, U.S.A., and Smith’s Patent June 23, 1857. The left side of the receiver is marked Manufactured by Mass. Arms Co. Chicopee Falls. The firearm features a walnut stock and a metal barrel. This lot includes an assortment of original and replacement components, such as a hammer, trigger, screws, and springs. Associated documentation and invoices from Dixie Gun Works detailing the acquisition of various parts are included. The receiver displays serial number 14500. Military inspector marked. Barrel length: 21 5/8 inches Caliber: .50. This item is either black powder or manufactured in or before 1898 (and does not take readily available ammunition), and thus does not require an FFL or background check. We can hand out to you at pickup or ship to the address of your choice. In-house shipping available.
