This collection comprises an extensive assortment of antique and vintage sewing buttons, historical portrait photography, and handcrafted beaded charms. The buttons are constructed from various materials including mother-of-pearl, glass, wood, plastic, metal, and bone, presented loose, on original display cards, or attached to period fabric strips. One specific mounting board features black fabric strips with buttons identified as originating from a ladies dress circa 1907-1909. The photographic group includes late 19th and early 20th-century studio portraits, cabinet cards, and a framed family portrait from Mobley’s Fine Art Studio in Salem, Indiana. Also included is a display tray containing multiple beaded jewelry charms or dangles featuring various glass and stone beads. Informative ephemera and mounting boards provide historical context, including a reproduction portrait of Doge Andrea Gritti and a photograph labeled The Bay 1890. Visible markings include Mobley’s Fine Art Studio, Salem, Ind. and Halcraft Lux Jewelry Components.
