Description
This collection of buttons is organized and mounted on four separate display boards according to material type. The bamboo board features several wooden buttons with carved or painted motifs including sailing ships, a bulldog, an ant, and geometric patterns, with one button noted as having moveable components. The aluminum display contains a group of metal buttons and pins, including a Harry S. Truman commemorative piece marked 33rd President U.S.A. 1945-1953, an Indian Motorcycle Company emblem, a frog with a green inset, a rocking horse, and various floral and figural designs. The coral board holds a single carved rose. The baleen section presents dark, polished pieces with scrimshaw-style engravings of Arctic scenes such as an igloo and a sled, alongside light-colored pieces identified by accompanying text as walrus tusk from the Aleutian Islands and potential ivory. The items are presented on perforated mounting boards.
Each display board measures approximately 9 inches in width. Pick up is Friday, March 13 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
