Description
A collection of buttons presented on six display cards, primarily identified as celluloid wafers with web consensus indicating the inclusion of Bakelite and vegetable ivory. The buttons are featured in various geometric forms including circular, square, rectangular, and oval shapes. Material finishes include solid colors, marbled effects, and speckled patterns across a diverse color palette. Decorative treatments include molded and carved geometric patterns, floral motifs, and abstract designs, as well as pictorial subjects such as avian figures and a stylized face. The display cards bear printed labels reading WAFERS CELLULOID and CELLULOID WAFERS, with some cards containing handwritten notations such as SHELL FABRIC and W/ METAL EMB.
Display cards: approximately 9 inches in width each Pick up is Friday, March 13 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
