Description
A collection of antique and vintage buttons featuring a diverse array of materials including china, calico, and glass. The specimens exhibit various decorative techniques such as transfer-printed calico patterns, geometric starbursts, floral motifs, and solid color glazes. The collection is organized on several individual display boards with handwritten and typed labels identifying categories such as Mixed China, Ringers, and Calico specimens sorted by color. Specific classifications noted on the boards include mottled, gingham, and scarce decorative rim varieties, along with a section identified as an Australian version of utilitarian chinas. The buttons are of varying sizes and are secured to the boards using wire or thread.
