Description
This collection features an assortment of antique and vintage buttons and small decorative buckles, primarily unified by buckle-themed designs. These items are buttons composed of various materials including luster and black glass, brass, steel, and early plastics. Decorative techniques include intricate molded, pierced, and relief-carved details, with some pieces featuring cut-steel embellishments, mother-of-pearl, and tinted brass finishes. Construction styles include loop shanks with plates, self-shanks with thread grooves, and both one-piece and three-piece Japanned back constructions. One specimen is identified with a Paris backmark. The collection is mounted on a display board with descriptive labels.
The display board measures approximately 9 inches in height. Pick up is Friday, March 13 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
