Description
A collection of vintage buttons featuring clown and jester motifs in various artistic styles. The assortment includes relief-molded figures, decoupage, openwork, and hand-painted designs. These items are buttons crafted from a diverse range of materials including brass, white metal, phenolic, glass, plaster of Paris, pewter, jasperware, and wood. Several items feature specific attributions or markings, including a blue jasperware button dated 07, a glass button attributed to Luciane, and a wooden button from the studio of E. Harbour. The buttons are mounted on a descriptive card with handwritten notes identifying themes such as Doffing Hat, Dancing, and Juggling.
