Description
A collection of antique and vintage buttons presented on three thematic display cards and including several loose pieces. The collection is organized into categories labeled Realistics – Grapes, Games / Sports, and Gambling Buttons. Materials include brass, silver, pewter, white metal, glass, celluloid, gutta-percha, enamel, shell, and bone. Decorative motifs feature embossed grape clusters, athletes in football and tennis poses, equestrian scenes, and gambling symbols such as dice and a mahjong tile. Several buttons are accompanied by handwritten descriptive labels on the mounting cards. Notable markings include silver pieces stamped 925 and BM 925+ with a maker’s mark, as well as a button marked Patent.
Display cards measure approximately 8.5 inches in width each. Pick up is Friday, March 13 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
