Description
This collection features a variety of vintage and antique buttons dating from approximately 1890 to 1950. The items are primarily spherical in form and are presented on professional display boards with descriptive labels. The assortment includes buttons crafted from a wide range of materials such as pewter, aluminum, casein, rock crystal, silver filigree, enamel, hand-painted ceramic, bone, ivory, horn, shell, and wood. Notable specimens include uranium glass, genuine amber, and fossil rock with crinoid stems. The collection also showcases early synthetic materials including celluloid, phenolic, and polyester. The items are meticulously organized with handwritten and typed annotations, including a card attributed to Sallie Gibson. Pick up is Friday, March 13 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
