Description
This collection consists of an assortment of black glass buttons presented on two informational reference worksheets. One worksheet is titled Old Black Glass by Ann Olson, dated August 2001, and categorizes the specimens using classification numbers and labels such as paperweight and lacy. The second group is mounted on lavender cardstock and labeled as probably older self-shank buttons of unknown and mixed age. The assortment includes various styles such as faceted, molded, embossed, and lacy designs. Several specimens feature gold, silver, or iridescent luster finishes, while others exhibit enamel, paint, and metal embellishments.
