Description
This collection features an assortment of vintage and antique black glass buttons, commonly referred to as jet glass, presented on four distinct display cards. The collection includes a printed card titled Schaefer’s Classification of Black Glass Buttons, which organizes specimens by type such as heraldic, sporting, and luster. Another card features buttons arranged in a Christmas tree motif on green felt, accented with small clear rhinestones. Two additional boards contain buttons organized by pictorial motifs, including animals, architecture, and historical figures, with detailed handwritten labels. The buttons demonstrate various manufacturing techniques, including molded glass, metallic luster finishes, enamel accents, and inset components. Designs range from geometric patterns to intricate pictorial scenes.
Display boards approximately 8.5 x 11 inches Pick up is Friday, March 13 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
