Description

This collection is comprised of three organized display boards featuring a wide variety of materials and styles categorized according to National Button Society (NBS) standards. These are buttons crafted from diverse media including coconut shell, hand-painted ivory, petoskey stone, meerschaum, cinnabar, silver, brass, and Fordite (layered paint residue). One board is dedicated to Section 15 Non-Pictorial examples, while another focuses on Objects such as anchors, fans, and musical instruments. Notable individual pieces include a silver coin-style button marked PATRONA BAVARIAE 1760, a Bimini glass button, and studio-made examples by creators such as N. Craig. The collection includes a first-place ribbon from the Midwest Regional Button Association (MRBA) 2018 inaugural show in Bloomington, Illinois. The items are presented on punched display cards with descriptive typewritten and handwritten labels.
