Description
This collection consists of numerous vintage and antique buttons dating from the early to mid-20th century. The primary materials represented are celluloid and bakelite, as indicated by handwritten testing notes on the mounting cards. The assortment features a wide variety of construction techniques, including carved, layered, and painted designs. Decorative motifs range from simple geometric forms like circles and squares to more complex novelty shapes. The buttons are presented on four separate display boards of gold, gray, white, and red colors. Two of these boards are specifically labeled Celluloid Bubbles and showcase buttons with marbled, swirled, or textured patterns. Visible handwritten annotations on the cards include Tested – Is Celluloid and Celluloid (tested) gold plated setting. The collection includes a broad spectrum of colors such as deep reds, blacks, creams, and multi-colored marbled examples.
Width of individual display boards: approximately 9 inches Pick up is Friday, March 13 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
