Description
This collection of vintage and antique buttons features a diverse assortment of styles and materials dating from the early to mid-20th century. The lot includes buttons fashioned from celluloid and bakelite, showcasing Art Deco geometric forms and whimsical mid-century modern designs. Many pieces utilize mixed-media construction, incorporating wood, metal, mother-of-pearl, and glass. The buttons are presented on four original display cards with labels including Celluloid, Celluloid Fun – Funky, and Embellished Celluloid (With Other Materials). Several cards feature handwritten technical notations such as tested celluloid, with coralene, and Patent Pending. The assortment includes various techniques such as carving, inlay, and applied embellishments.
Each card: Approximately 9 x 12 inches
Total width of two cards: 18 inches Pick up is Friday, March 13 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
