Description
This assortment of vintage and antique buttons is presented on three thematic display boards accompanied by a related early 20th-century postcard. The first board features equine and horseshoe motifs crafted from various materials including brass, silver-toned metal, carved wood, and plastic. The second board, labeled Ladies Only, displays buttons depicting women’s profiles, cameos, and a notable rhinestone-bordered silhouette; materials identified by collector labels include blue transparent glass and mother of pearl. This board also includes a button commemorating Queen Elizabeth II dated 1953. The third board, labeled Lions, showcases lion-themed buttons in stoneware, pewter, bakelite, aluminum, steel, leather, horn, fabric, and resin, including a colorful enameled Big Top circus wagon. The collection is completed by a 1909 postmarked birthday postcard featuring a horseshoe and floral design with a one-cent Benjamin Franklin stamp. These are buttons that feature various handwritten and typed collector annotations throughout the display.
The display boards measure approximately 9 inches in height. Pick up is Friday, March 13 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
