Description
This assortment of buttons features a diverse range of styles and motifs primarily crafted from various white metals. The collection includes Art Nouveau-style floral designs, intricate Victorian scrollwork, heraldic crests, and pictorial scenes. Notable examples include a large circular relief button depicting a figure in a landscape with handwritten text reading DAYDREAMING, and another button featuring a classical male profile surrounded by the Latin phrase DOCENDO DISCIMUS ET NIHILO NIHIL FIT. The group also contains buttons with enamel accents, such as a rose-patterned example, and one set with a turquoise-colored cabochon. Construction methods vary, including stamped, cast, and assembled pieces.
Mounting board measures approximately 11 by 8.5 inches.
Individual buttons range from approximately 0.25 inches to 1.5 inches in diameter. Pick up is Friday, March 13 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
