Description
A collection of antique and vintage mixed metal buttons featuring a diverse array of designs and sizes. The assortment is predominantly crafted from brass, copper-toned, and silver-toned metals, with select examples incorporating enamel-colored finishes, glass cabochons, and mother-of-pearl inserts. Decorative motifs include figurative scenes such as a woman bathing, various animals, floral and foliate patterns, and celestial symbols including stars and crescents. Multiple geometric and textured designs are present, including Greek key borders and guilloche-style engine turning. The styles represented suggest a period ranging from the 19th through the early 20th centuries, including Victorian and Art Nouveau examples.
